The structure of the vineyard was realized in 2002. We wanted a high density structural organization of roughly 7900 vine stock per hectare. The cultivation protocol varies according to the species of grape vine and the particular field under cultivation. The pruning system used is the spurred and double spurred cordon. The search for a balance through a mix of agronomic choices and terrain characteristics spontaneously created low per-vine production level without having to use extreme cluster thinning. In the case of our vineyard “Pineta di Carolo”, mother nature met us half way; this vineyard is situated within an area that is off limits to hunters and local pheasant routinely thin the grape clusters during maturation.
